Loud-Hailer works like a walkie-talkie, letting you send messages from your iPhone to others nearby without cell reception, WiFi or an Internet connection. You can even create a network with an unlimited number of people.

Broadcast a message, including links, to large groups even if you don’t have their email addresses.

Chat with your friends anywhere there is poor signal strength: at a stadium or concert, when you’re camping, hiking or taking a cruise.

To get started, just register your email address, select a four-digit PIN and user name, and upload a profile picture. Each message can be as long as 160 characters.

The Details :

Your user name may be your real name, a nickname or a pseudonym. User names are neither verified nor unique, and you can change your user name at any time.
Loud-Hailer users are anonymous – we don’t share any identifying information – but messages can be read by everyone in the vicinity so don’t broadcast confidential information.

The top of the app screen shows you how many users nearby can broadcast to you and receive your broadcasts.

Loud-Hailer messages are temporary. Each message is initially displayed at full strength. It gradually fades out until it totally disappears after 5 minutes. Each message is rebroadcast during that time so, if someone misses a message when it was initially sent, they will have a chance to receive it later. Messages are not saved on your phone. The only way for you to have a record of a message is to take a screenshot before it fades.

If you enable Loud-Hailer alerts, you’ll be notified of new messages. Just be sure to check your phone as soon as you receive the alert so you can read the message before it disappears.

Each user who receives a message will in turn re-broadcast it to others.

How Does Loud-Hailer Work?

When two or more iPhones are running the app within 250 feet of each other, a mesh network is automatically created. As long as you’re connected to one user in the mesh network, you’re connected to all of them.

You can create a network anywhere so you and your friends can message each other in the subway, at a concert, or even while spelunking. There’s no limit to the size of your network. But remember, anyone who uses Loud-Hailer can receive everyone else’s messages, so don’t broadcast any personal, private or confidential information.

Loud-Hailer uses Bluetooth wireless technology. It works without the Internet, WiFi or your cellular phone network as long as Bluetooth is on. That means your can communicate with other users even during blackouts, as long as your battery has a charge.

Unlike traditional Bluetooth connections, you don’t need to pair with other users in advance. You’re automatically connected as soon as you come within range of other
Loud-Hailer users.

Bluetooth draws less power than surfing the Internet or making phone calls so your phone’s battery will stay charged longer.
